“Unjournaling”

One resource for the class is the book Unjournaling (2006) by Dawn DiPrince and Cheryl Miller Thurston.  This book has 200 writing prompts that aren’t your regular How-do-you-feel-when-you-see-this-piece-of-artwork questions.  Instead it challenges writers to write a paragraph without using the letter “t” or similar, or write a four line poem about the most ridiculous object ever.

Today we rewrote a paragraph from the book from passive to active voice…not an easy activity.  Later this week, students will post their entries on other Unjournaling prompts.  Check back by the weekend to read their work!
